Getting To Know About Skin
As all of us know, the largest organ of our body is skin. But few of us understand how this organ works.
If you know the basic fundamentals of skin, you can make your skin better by giving it what it needs and stop using that can provide harm to your skin.
If your skin is not healthy internally, whatever you applied will not give any benefit. So taking care of the skin as an organ will help you a lot in getting glowing skin.
Three layers making your skin are:
The epidermis is the top layer of skin that we direct access to. That’s why you must support it and treat it well. It acts as a barrier that blocks harm and also protects yours inside from outside.
To help your epidermis do:
Wash Your Face
Wash your face before going to bed each night. No matter how tired your face, hit your pillow with a clean look. Don’t let the toxins and dirt of all-day transfer to your pillowcase because you are going to press your face into it for 7-9 hours.
Exfoliate Your Skin
Exfoliation will remove dead skin cells from the top layer of your skin. And this helps new, fresh cells to grow in their place.
How To Do Exfoliation
Use pure honey and gently scrub your clean face with it. After cleansing, wash your face with warm water.
- If you have oily skin, then exfoliate your skin up to 5 times a week.
- If you have sensitive skin, then exfoliate 1-2 times a week.
- If your skin is normal to combination skin, then exfoliating for up to 3 times a week is enough.
Stop doing the following thing as it can hurt your epidermis.
Don’t Use Basic Cleansers
There is a lipid layer that helps your skin to hold moisture and thus helps in looking youthful, but using basic soaps and cleansers daily can damage this lipid layer. That’s why to use those soaps and cleansers that are slightly acidic in nature.
Your dermis is the most essential thing that plays a vital role in keeping your skin radiant and flawless consequently, you should pay proper attention to it if you want glowing skin.
Collagen & Elastin
Collagen and elastin are little-known proteins present in your skin. If you support them, they will reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin likewise. However, they get hardly attention in the beauty and cosmetics industry.
Collage is like coiled up springs in the structure under your skin and provides strength and structure to it.
Elastin’s shape is rubber-like, and they are present within your skin. They keep your skin snap back into place after being stretched out. Break down of elastin cause wrinkles and saggy skin.
Show some love to your dermis by doing the following things:
Do Massage & Exercise
Massage and exercise add a subtle glow to your skin as they improve blood circulation that supports the optimal functions of your skin.
Use Moisturizer To Increase Collagen Production
Retinol increases the production of collagen and also speeds up the turn over of new skin cells that consequently reduce fine lines and wrinkles. So try to use moisturizers with retinol. Likewise, serums, concentrated, and lightweight moisturizers also help in wrinkles, acne, hydration, and cause skin brightness.
Increase The Intake Of Vitamin C
The excessive exposure to vitamin c for long time periods can produce collagen up to 8 times more that’s why make a friendship with vitamin C.
Do Not Get Direct Exposure To The Sun
If you have exposure to the sun for even 10-15 minutes, it can damage your elastin and collagen, and it is tough to regenerate elastin.
So to avoid this, use sunscreen always while going outside, moreover using the right sunscreen is really important. My recommendation is to use fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, broad-spectrum, SPF 30+ sunscreen.
Avoid Sugar As Much As You Can
To get fulgent skin, you have to cut down the usage of sugar because excessive sugar triggers the glycation process, which involves the progressive breakdown of collagen.
The hypodermis is the bottom layer of your skin, and it supplies blood to the dermis. To achieve bright skin, you have to make sure that your hypodermis is functioning efficiently.
The hypodermis contains your lymphatic system along with fluids and blood vessels to clarify the lymphatic system is like the sewage system of your body that includes bacteria, damaged cella, and toxins from body tissues.
A disruption in the functioning of the lymphatic system can cause acne, a loss of elasticity, and premature aging of your skin.
Your lymphatic system has no natural pump that enables circulation, so you have to massage and exercise your skin to provide that pump.
Do Exercise For 30 Minutes
Doing the exercise for 30 minutes daily, provide a great pump for your lymphatic system besides this exercise also helps in:
- Getting a healthy glow
- Lift up your mood
- Get rid of dead skin cells
- Sweat out toxins
- Distress you
Do Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Lymphatic drainage massage reduces puffiness and fluid buildups by using lymphatic system natural pathways to pump out toxins out of your body.
